A groundbreaking study from the University of Vermont, published in Nature Communications, has revealed that eighty-six percent of the global population now prioritizes environmental protection over economic growth.

Using data from 1.2 million people across 130 nations via the Gallup World Poll, the research challenges the political myth that citizens are unwilling to sacrifice financial wealth for the planet.

While researchers maintain a measured outlook regarding the gap between belief and actual behavior, the high support for a global carbon tax signals a major shift in public will and a historic mandate for leaders.

Brazil has achieved a historic conservation victory by establishing a 271,000-acre protected area along the coast of Rio Grande do Sul via federal decree.

This decision secures a vital future for the endangered Lahille’s bottlenose dolphin and a rare prehistoric fossil record containing giant ground sloths. Stop anti-voter bills now

From ACLU: The SAVE Act and its more extreme versions – the SAVE America Act and MEGA Act – could keep millions of eligible U.S. citizens from being able to vote, severely restrict vote by mail, and increase federal control over state and local elections. These bills aren’t about safeguarding elections. They’re about silencing voters. We can't let these bills get any further: Tell Congress to reject these dangerous bills and protect our voting rights.

The three stages of money for the purpose-driven

As purpose-driven citizens, we often have a conflicted relationship with money. We tend to fall into one of two extremes:

Either we shun money as antithetical to morality and goodness, and thus live lives constantly distracted and drained by the need to meet our basic survival needs. Or, we truly wish to do good in the world, but cling to our moneyβ€”even when we have more than enough, and even as the world around us pleads for help.

In my mind, there are three stages of a healthy, aligned relationship to money for the purpose-driven citizen.

The short version is this: It's all about finding the balance between the input and output of the money flowing through your life. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is focus on accumulating. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is focus on offering it to those in need.

Stage 1: Securing

You are fueling your own survival. Your chief concern is securing your family's well-being. Money is a critical, much-needed resource in achieving that. You and the world are best served by focusing your energy on growing a consistent, sufficient foundation of material abundance.

Stage 2: Actualizing

You are fueling your purpose. Your chief concern is sharing your gifts with the world and enacting your vision of change. Money is no longer mostly in service to survival and safety; it has also become fuel for your contribution to the world. You and the world are best served by shifting your attention away from survival and onto projects and endeavors that feel purposeful and do good.

Stage 3: Stewarding

You are fueling the ecosystem of change. You have more than enough money to fuel your direct contribution to the world. You and the world are best served by continuing your purpose projects and by sharing generously from your financial reserves to support others' contributions, or by giving directly to those in need.

The goal isn't to rush to the next stage before you're ready. The goal is to honestly identify where you are and ensure your financial resources flow in a way that reflects your current reality.
