Texas right to repair law takes effect, covering phones and laptops

House Bill 2963 requires manufacturers to supply parts, tools, and repair documentation to independent shops and device owners on the same fair terms their authorized service networks already get. Roughly three in four Texans backed it.

Consumer group U.S. PIRG estimates the average Texas household could save roughly $382 a year by fixing electronics rather than replacing them, against a $330 national average — and about 8,700 smartphones are discarded in the state every day.

But "fair and reasonable" pricing is not yet defined, and manufacturers have complied narrowly with similar laws before.

For almost a year now, I've been running my weekly group program. It's for people who want to do good in the world, but have been feeling burned out, stuck, jaded, or lost on their path.

It has been so much fun seeing everyone come together, get to know each other, and support each other in building a life and career that truly serves the world, yet also feels authentic, purposeful, and sustainable for us as individuals.

We've always run it at noon PT on Mondays. But we've switched things up a bit. We now meet at 9am on Fridays.
