April 15 2026 Good News for Humankind ๐Your daily spark of possibility โ one real milestone for change from around the world. Alzheimerโs risk cut in half by drug in landmark prevention trialA clinical trial from Washington University in St. Louis and published in The Lancet Neurology found that long-term high-dose treatment with the antibody drug gantenerumab reduced Alzheimer's risk by roughly 50% in people with dominantly inherited Alzheimer's disease โ a rare genetic form caused by mutations that make the disease near-certain. The results are statistically uncertain and apply to less than 1% of all Alzheimer's cases, but they provide the first evidence that removing amyloid plaques before symptoms appear can meaningfully change the course of the disease.
Updates from Peter ๐Can I ask you for something?I've been working on growing the newsletter's reach lately โ finding more people who could really use a spark of insight and inspiration to start their day. One thing that moves the needle more than almost anything: other websites linking to mine. It tells Google this is a legitimate, trustworthy source. And it drives real traffic. So here's my ask: if this newsletter has meant something to you, would you consider linking to it from your website? If you write about burnout, purpose, climate, justice, or doing good in the world, or just like pointing to helpful resources, a link to peterschulte.org/good-news-for-humankind or peterschulte.org/antihero-project would be so appreciated.
