September 29, 2026 Good News for Humankind πYour daily spark of possibility β one real milestone for change from around the world. Once extinct in the wild, more than 600 scimitar-horned oryx now roam ChadThe scimitar-horned oryx, a pale, long-horned Sahara antelope, has become a test case for whether captive-bred animals can relearn life in the wild. Researchers tracking the herd released in Chad since 2016 see early signs the animals are rebuilding social bonds and migration knowledge lost when wild herds vanished, and the same approach now helps other endangered antelope like the addax. Still, the species remains Endangered, and conservationists say securing its future is unfinished work.
Chapter 3: Presence | 3-8 Universal loveAll things are innately drawn toward and interconnected with one another. But this is not mere physical connection, the way we think of gravity. It is connection that nourishes. It is connection that's innately good and benevolent. We might simply call it love. But while this is among the biggest, most powerful words we have, our usual human notions of βloveβ are too small, too local, too conditional for what we are pointing to here. This is more than romance, more than friendship, more than any feeling you might have. Yes, it is the energy underlying and infused into all these things. But it is also the ineffable, mysterious, universal force that pulls everything toward everything else, the same pull that holds the cells of your body together, that keeps planets in orbit, that binds together the cosmic strands of galaxies that form the superstructure of the known universe. It is the heat of bodies together on a cold night. The comfort of a friend. The instinct that tells a stranger to help another stranger. The instinct that drives you to do good in the world even when it's hard, even when it feels hopeless. This is a pervasive, boundless love. It creates a universal network of mutual nourishment and warmth flowing through all things. All beings, all woven together, all breathing into one another. The recognition that I'm in you and you're in me. The recognition that even as life dies, it simply cycles back into the soil of the universe as fertilizer. This is love. This is goodness. Itβs the connection between all things. Itβs the flow of nourishment breathing in and out of all things.
